The Real Me~~For My Readers

Hey everyone!
How are you doing?
I feel like there are a few subjects I should touch bases on...they've been on my mind a lot.
Everyone knows me as a Christian, and I am...kinda. I may not be the definition of a Christian in quite a few of my readers' books, but I am in mine. I do believe in a higher power such as God, because someone must have created this earth and life, but I don't believe that it played out exactly how the Bible states it. I believe it may have occurred over millions of years, and he didn't exactly just say, "let there be light". These are just my feelings though.

I'm really not much of a Bible-reader to be honest. I haven't read my Bible in over a year. I just don't agree with most of what it says. For example, it says to love him above all else, and I know that I don't. I most definitely love my family more than him. For me at least, it's just full of a lot of judgmental stuff, and it doesn't make me happy when I read it. I find myself happier when I'm reading books like Harry Potter, Mortal Instruments, or Hunger Games, and God wants me to happy. Personally, I feel he hasn't put me on this earth, just to read the Bible, worship him, and witness to others. I don't see anything wrong with watching movies with "witchcraft" in it.

Also, I don't see anything wrong with gay marriage or being transgender, not at all. I know that a lot of you disagree with this statement, but like I said, this is just how I feel. God wouldn't have created someone to be gay, and then say it's wrong. Most people don't just choose to be gay just because and have to deal with everyone judging them and making fun of them just for that. In my opinion, gay marriage is just fine, and I was glad when they made it legal.

I also had someone recently judge me on my recent outfit post, telling me how immodest it was, and how I was showing off my body for men and giving them unnecessary sinful thoughts. My modesty opinion is my own. I'm not going to cover my whole body in clothing. I don't control what those men think, they control it themselves, and trust me, when I wear shorts, I'm not wearing them so men can be looking at my body. I wear them because I like wearing shorts, and I'm comfortable in them. I consider myself quite a modest girl, but that doesn't mean I really want to wear skirts and dresses all the time. If that's what you like to do and that's what makes you happy, great! :) It's just not really my style.

I've had a few people judging me lately on the kind of person they "think" I am. This blog isn't a Christian blog, so I'm not going to be posting a lot of Christian stuff if that's what you're here for. What I'm getting at with this post is that I'm done with being judged. Most of you don't really know the real me. Only a very small handful of people do. If you have a problem with my views, then I'm not forcing you to keep reading my blog. I don't want a ton of people saying either that they're are going to be praying for me, because I don't want to just be "pitied" because I'm supposedly a "lost soul". These are just my opinions, and some of you may not agree with them, but that doesn't mean I'm a bad person. So if you don't want to continues reading my blog because of the person you think I am, then sorry, I'm not going to feel bad about my beliefs, and you can't make me feel bad. This blog was never suppose to be a Christian blog.  I am a good person, and only a few people have actually taken the time to get to know me for the real me, and haven't judged me a single time for my beliefs, and those are the people I know I can trust and talk to.

  2. Just wanted to make a quick statement on the gay thing.
God created the person, but he did not make him gay, that was Satan. God allowed him to do that, even though we don't always know why.

  3. Hi Katie!
First, I don't agree with everything that you said, but I think that it's cool how you did this post! I hate it when people judge you just because they don't agree with you. It's so frustrating!
But, as I said, it's cool that you did this post! I'm not judging you just because we have different beliefs, and I still really like your blog! :D

  4. Katie, first off I just wanted to say thank you. I've been reading your blog for a long time now and I feel like this is the first time you have ever really shared this deeply about yourself. I know that must be hard. Even though I completely disagree with pretty much everything you said in this post, I'm not going to unfollow your blog because I still love the person you are, regardless of your beliefs.
Like I said, I disagree with you on almost everything you said, but you said you didn't want to argue about it, and I can respect that.
Believe me, this is not coming from judgement at all, just curiosity; what do you feel you have put on this earth to do?

  5. Hey Katie!

Before I say anything, please know that I am not judging you, but there are a few things that you said that really bothered me and I just wanted to talk about them.

I believe that *everything* in the Bible is true. Think about it Katie, would someone as powerful and amazing as God give you a book of stories, rules, and encouragement that weren't true? Basically when you say that you don't believe what's in the Bible, you're saying that God's a lier. And he's most definitely not. As Christians, we are supposed to live how the Bible tells us to, but how can we if we don't read it or believe it? I will admit that there are books in the Bible that can be kind of boring, but there are SO MANY great and encouraging books and verses. The Bible is full of many wonderful things and it's just full of encouragement.

When the Bible says that you should love Him above others, it's true. I understand that you love your family a lot, we all love our families. My family is amazing and I'd do just about anything for them. But really, think about it. God's love for YOU is so great that He sent His one and only son, to die just so that YOU could live with him. Katie, nobody, I mean nobody can love you more then God can. He did that just for us, though we don't deserve it at all, and really the least we can do is love Him in return. Also, just because He is Jesus doesn't mean that He had a painless death, no it hurt. It was painful. But He did it for you and me. Really, what greater love is there?

Katie, God wants you to be happy but that doesn't mean that you get to do whatever you want to be happy. If your reading witchcraft which clearly says is wrong in the Bible, ( Galatians 5, 1 Samuel 15 : 23, 2 Chronicles 33 : 6 ) that's not going to make Him happy. Of course God wants us to be happy, but not by always doing what we want. You can still be happy and do what He wants as well.

As for gay marriage, it wasn't intended to be that way, we made it that way ourselves. In the beginning God made man and women and He said that they should be fruitful and multiply. He didn't say anything about two people with the same gender being together. Not only do I feel like it is wrong, but it's really disturbing to gay people together, because it's not suppose to be that way.

Please understand that I'm not trying to be rude or judge you in anyway, I just wanted to share some of that with you.

  6. Dear Katie,

You already know that I disagree with you on most everything, but I just wanted to say this: God doesn't create anyone to be gay. In Romans chapter 1, this is what God says. "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one towards another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;" and on it goes. God never creates anyone to be gay. But he gives them up to a reprobate mind and allows them to do things which are not appropriate BECAUSE they do not have any desire to know God, or please Him. In the beginning, God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, and God does not approve of it, and never will. (Hope that all was clear. :)

And I just wanted to say one more thing, Katie. You said you believe in God that He created the world. And that's true. But do you believe in Jesus Christ as a savior? Christian means, "believe in Jesus Christ as Savior." Salvation comes by putting your faith and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation and eternity. Have you done that? God loved you....more than anyone else ever will or could...so much so that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die on a cross and suffer for you. 1 John 4 says "In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." See, God didn't send Jesus his son into the world because we loved him first and we wanted to worship him. God sent Jesus here to earth because he FIRST loved US. And God's love was shown, manifested, by coming and dying for everyone's sins so everyone could go to heaven if they accepted his free offer of salvation.

Did everything make sense, Katie? Have you asked Jesus to come into your heart and save you? :D

    Much love in Christ,
    Ashley
